Abstract. A new iterative algorithm for approximating a solution of a split feasibility problem and the fixed point problem of a quasi--nonexpansive mapping is proposed and studied. It is proved that the sequence generated by the new algorithm converges strongly to a common solution of the split feasibility problem and the fixed point problem in real Banach spaces, which are more general than Hilbert spaces.
